What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies may also store or access information on your device, such as local storage or tracking pixels.

The Information Commissioner’s Office explains that websites must provide clear information about storage and access technologies and obtain consent unless an exception applies. ICO storage and access technologies guidance.

How we use storage technologies

• Essential and preference storage: to operate security features and remember whether you accepted or declined optional analytics.
• Optional analytics: if you accept, Google Analytics helps us understand aggregate traffic, popular pages and use of our tools and articles.
• Form security: Cloudflare Turnstile may use necessary security technologies on the contact form to identify automated abuse.

The site does not use advertising cookies or enable advertising storage, advertising user data or ad personalisation through Google Consent Mode.

Google Analytics and Consent Mode

We use a basic Google Consent Mode implementation. Analytics storage is denied by default and the Google Analytics tag is not loaded until you select “Accept analytics”. If you decline or have not yet chosen, we do not send Google Analytics events or cookieless analytics pings.

If you accept, Google Analytics may process page views, tool interactions, browser or device information and approximate location. Our custom events do not include form contents, names, email addresses, telephone numbers or calculator input values. Advertising-related consent signals remain denied.

We chose basic rather than advanced Consent Mode because it is the more conservative option for this small website: no Google measurement requests are made before analytics is accepted. This implementation does not assume that the ICO statistical-purposes exception automatically applies to the default Google Analytics configuration.

Your stored preference

Your analytics choice is stored locally in your browser under accoura_analytics_consent_v1 as either granted or denied. It contains no contact details and remains until you change it, clear site data or use a browser mode that does not retain local storage.

If analytics is accepted, Google Analytics may set first-party cookies whose names begin _ga. Declining analytics removes accessible Google Analytics cookies and prevents the tag loading on the next page load.

Managing your choice

Use the persistent “Cookie settings” control in the footer to accept or decline analytics at any time. Declining analytics does not disable calculators, navigation, contact forms or Turnstile. You can also remove cookies and local storage through your browser settings.

Third-party services

Google Analytics is optional and loads only after acceptance. Formspree processes submitted consultation forms, and Cloudflare Turnstile supports essential form-abuse prevention. These providers process information under their own privacy terms.

Updates to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy if we change analytics tools, advertising providers, consent technology or website functionality.
